Sacred Medicine Stewardship & Peyote Preservation

SACRED MEDICINE STEWARDSHIP

For generations, Indigenous peoples have maintained relationships with sacred plants through prayer, ceremony, traditional knowledge, and responsibility to the Earth.

NAC of ICSAW approaches sacred medicine stewardship with respect for these longstanding relationships and for the protocols, teachings, and responsibilities surrounding their ceremonial use.

The church's work includes the cultivation, propagation, preservation, stewardship, and responsible care of traditional sacred plants within the religious practices and policies of the church and in accordance with applicable law.

This work is grounded not simply in preserving plants themselves, but in preserving the relationships, knowledge, responsibilities, and cultural traditions connected with them.
